SELECTED ENGAGEMENTS

The owner of an Appalachian-based oilfield service company was seeking a growth capital partner to provide financing for his aggressive expansion plans. He led a comprehensive sell-side auction process designed to match the owner’s goals and objectives. The transaction successfully closed and achieved an optimal balance of valuation and cultural fit.

The owners of a Texas-based oilfield service company needed guidance through various phases of their growth cycle and with unique capital needs created by volatility in the sector. The business began as a start-up and soon identified an acquisition target. He led the capital raise anchored by a private equity fund and managed all aspects of the M&A process to secure the target company. A few years later, a severe downturn in the energy sector shifted the company’s needs from growth capital to rescue capital, and he advised the client through recapitalization with the existing PE fund. Several years later Mike advised the Founder through a complex management buyout resulting in the Founder regaining 100% ownership of his business. He also sourced and negotiated the acquisition financing needed to close.
